The way AWARE calculates where “home” involves where you are most frequently overnight. If you happen to be away from that place that you consider your actual home for a few weeks, the app might read that as a new home location. Upon your return to your actual home, it may take a little time for the app to adjust or readjust.
Most of the features in the app (e.g., screen time) are on a one day delay. So, you won’t be able to see the data as it comes in. This is because so much of the information available to you in the app is based on daily calculations. This allows you to compare stats across days, helping you identify areas where you might want to make a change. Your data for most features will update in the app daily around 7am.
Two exceptions are your weekly Mood Score, which comes in just once a week (on Sunday), and daily mood check-ins, which you can view immediately .
Although you can start using MoodRing and the AWARE app as soon as you are enrolled in the study, your features will start to be used to calculate your first Mood Score on the first Sunday you are in the study. You will receive your first Mood Score on the following Sunday (the second Sunday you are in the study).
