moodring has many different features including screen time and sleep tracking

MoodRing is an app designed to help adolescents monitor their mood with the goal of identifying patterns over time. Understanding and tracking these patterns may lead to better habits and improved mood.

The Science Behind the Mobile App

MoodRing is a part of the Technology and Emotions (TECH-E) Study led by Dr. Ana Radovic, a physician at the Center for Adolescent and Young Adult Health at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and a researcher in the field of adolescent mental health. The goals of the study are to understand whether patterns of smartphone use are related to symptoms of depression and if technology can help adolescents manage their mental health. The study is recruiting youth ages 12-18 with a prior or present history of depression and a smartphone. Some participants will test a smartphone app. All participants will complete online surveys and receive compensation. To complete a screening for TECH-E, click here MoodRing Screening.
